Quick Start Guide

This quick start guide will take you through the steps of setting up your Piracymeter account, selecting your subscription plan, understanding your dashboard, and much more. Let's get started!

Step 1: Create an Account

Registration on Piracymeter is exclusively available for filmmakers, distributors, and VOD streaming services.

Go to https://piracymeter.com/ and click on the 'Sign Up' button. Provide your details and click 'Register'.

A verification message will be sent to your email. Click the link in that message to verify your account. Please note, we only accept registrations from 'business' email addresses. Personal email addresses from services such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc., cannot be used for registration.

Step 2: Select Your Plan

Next, choose the plan that best fits your needs at https://piracymeter.com/pricing. Our scalable calculator allows you to select a subscription plan, the number of projects, and the regions you need to protect.

A Subscription Plan defines the monitoring and protection limits for any project. You will select the specific projects and countries to monitor later.

For example, purchasing the Pro plan with 10 projects and coverage in 103 countries allows you to activate protection for any 10 projects of your choice across those 103 countries.

You can enable or disable protection for any project as needed. For instance, one month, you may choose to monitor specific projects, and the next month, you can switch to different ones.

Piracymeter subscriptions operate on a monthly auto-renewal basis, meaning your subscription will automatically renew each month unless canceled.

Step 3: Add a Project

Adding a project is simple. Just go to the main landing page at https://piracymeter.com/.

In the search bar, enter your movie or TV show title, select the countries where you want to protect your content, and click "Search".

Within minutes, Piracymeter will scan search results across the selected countries and generate a Piracy Visibility Analysis Report. Your project will also be available in the dashboard. To access it, click on your user profile in the top-right corner of the website, then go to Main Dashboard → Projects.

Step 4: Activate Your Subscription

To start monitoring your project, you need to activate your subscription plan. Simply toggle the switch for the selected plan.

Keep in mind that you can only activate a subscription for a project if the number of selected regions does not exceed the number of countries included in your plan.

After activating your subscription, the system will begin monitoring Google search results according to your subscription plan.

After 30 days, you can disable the subscription for the selected project and reallocate it to a different project if needed.

Step 5: Add Copyright Holder and Disable Testing Mode

Once monitoring is activated, you can find detected infringing URLs in the Links section or access them via the API.

If you want Piracymeter to take down pirated content on UGC platforms and de-index it from Google, follow the steps outlined in the Enforcement and Removing Content from Google section.

After adding the copyright holder authorization, disable Testing Mode—we will then begin the removal process.

Step 6: Monitor Your Data

Start monitoring your data. Visit the 'Dashboard', 'Links' and 'Trends' tab regularly to stay updated on your projects.

Your dashboard is your command center. From here, you can view key data on your projects and export infringing URLs.

Step 7: API Access

A paid subscription plan allows you to access copyright-infringing URLs programmatically using our API. Check out our API Documentation for detailed instructions.
